Create an ‘Aprons4Alzheimers’ Movement in Your Community
1. Gather friends and sew aprons.
2. Sell the aprons at a farmer’s market, bazaar, or through a local merchant.
3. Donate proceeds to a local organization that provides Alzheimer’s respite care.

September 22nd, Sewing Bash: "Childhood Revisited" apron making event with the Delectable Mountain Quilt Guild members, Steamboat Springs, CO.
Gwen and guild members will meet to sew aprons to help generate funds for Alzheimer's respite care.

I will be giving a reading and discuss in layman's terms how Alzheimer's affects the brain. I will also give tips from my caregiving experience and provide hand outs from the Utah Coalition of Caregivers.

My sister, Katie Frostic, and I will be reading from my book and present information about family dynamics and how they played a role in our lives as care givers.

My sister, Katie Frostic, and I will be reading from my book, "When Life Hands You Alzheimer's, Make Aprons!". A book signing will follow our presentation.

August 10, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Pueblo, CO, Stitchers Garden, 308 South Union Avenue
I will be conducting an apron making class and giving a reading from my book, "When Life Hands You Alzheimer's, Make Aprons!". Participants will be able to finish an apron using the pattern I used when caring for my mother. The pattern is a Vanilla House Design, by Barbara Brunson.

May 13 - 16, 2011, Salt Lake City, Utah, International Quilt Market, Salt Palace Convention Center:
Although not open to the general public, Gwen will be working with Barbara Brunson of Vanilla House Design to promote her book and Barabra's wonderful apron design. Should you be in Salt Lake City during the month of May, give Gwen a call at 801-694-7735, she would love to meet you!
February 25th, 2011, 6:00 P.M., Zephyrhills, Florida:
Make aprons with author, Gwen O'Leary, at Quilters Quarters, 4833 Allen Rd., Zephyrhills, FL. Gwen will read from her book, and instruct participants how to sew Barbara Brunson's apron design. Seating is limited, call 813-779-2615 to reserve a spot. This will be a memorable event, as it is her mother's birthday.

March 4th, 2011, 8:00 A.M., Zephyrhills, Florida, Oakside Park Club House:
Gwen will be reading Chapter 10, "Help Is Spelled H-E-R-B", from her book to residents of Oakside Park, where her Uncle Herb resides during the winter.

March 8th, 2011, 1:00 P.M., New River Branch Library, 34043 State Rd. 54, Zephyrhills, Florida:
Meet a character from Gwen's book. Sheena Lenny, a family friend from Scotland (who is mentioned in the book), will attend the presentation along with her 83 year old line dance teacher, Jenny, who is also visiting the states and enjoying a break from Scotlands chilly, rainy weather.

March 15th, 2011, 2:00 P.M., Dade City, Florida, Hugh Embrey Library:
"When Life Hands You Alzheimer's, Make Aprons!", is the book choice for the library's book club discussion group. Gwen and her husband, Lon Hinde, will come with aprons to display and will be armed with many lifely stories of their caregiving experience. They will offer wonderful anecdotes that occured as they lived on the road while writing the book.
